2011 Kick Off with Hass Avocados Recipe Contest – Finalist

This recipe was submitted by a Hass Avocado fan and has not been tested by the Hass Avocado Board.
Ingredients:
  • 1 pkg. crescent rolls
  • 1 lb. lean ground beef
  • 1/2 medium onion, chopped
  • 8 oz. can tomato sauce
  • 1 (1.25-oz.) pkg. taco seasoning mix
  • 1/2 cup sliced ripe olives
  • 1 1/2 – 2 cup corn chips, crushed
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
  • Shredded lettuce for garnish
  • 4 Hass Avocados, peeled and sliced
  • 2 large tomatoes, sliced

Instructions:

  1. Brown beef and onion. Drain. Stir in tomato sauce, taco mix, and olives. Spread crescent rolls in 9 inch pie plate to form crust. Spread beef mixture in crust, then spread sour cream over meat. Cover with cheese and corn chips. Bake 375 degrees F for 20 to 25 minutes or until brown. Garnish: on each plate put lettuce, avocado slices and tomato slices.
*Large avocados are recommended for this recipe. A large avocado averages about 8 ounces. If using smaller or larger size avocados adjust the quantity accordingly.
